job detailsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform product layout

Ability to write CMM Programs, using PC-DMIS.

Annually perform check fixture calibration and layout on all existing production check fixtures, models, templates and production parts.

Perform certification of all new check fixtures and models

Maintain inspection layout files in an orderly fashion

Perform tooling layouts for compliance and buyoff when necessary

Perform gage R&R

Scribe and save a master sample of all production jobs

Perform calibration of all hand-held tools, micrometers, calipers, height gages and all inspection tools

Responsible for management of testing equipment calibration requirements, and coordinate certification with outside sources.

Support the production and quality departments in problem solving

Operate the CMM and interpret all blueprints and math data

Perform all PPAP capability studies and samples layout

Execute all job responsibilities, not specifically listed here, that may be determined necessary by the Quality Manager

Demonstrates through personal action, a strong commitment to disciplined adherence to process and procedures

Actively contributes to and participates in continuous improvement initiatives

Other Duties:

Communicate/coordinate with other departments

Utilize CMM measurements systems

Read and interpret blue prints and GD&T interpretation

Utilize computer/software systems

Knowledge and utilization of statistical techniques

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience programming CMM utilizing PC-DMIS software. Experience interpreting Part prints and understanding GD&T. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
