Role Summary

Actively participates in the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the clinical social work staff and recreational therapy staff.

Provides leadership and mentoring of staff in order to meet the department's goals and performance standards including quality, service, communication and credo behavior, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling.

Provides operational and clinical social work supervision to the staff in the development of clinical practice, and provision of quality patient care.

Practices social work by providing direct services to identified cohort of patients and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Coordinates and provides support for all clinical staffing.

Mentors staff to develop individual and team performance.

Participates in the evaluation of staff via clinical supervision of staff.

Participates in the management of resources needed to guarantee quality patient care including recreation and therapeutic programming

Resolves patient / family conflicts as they arise regarding the patient / family experience.

Provides direct patient care.

Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.

Department / Unit Summary : The Behavioral Health program at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital - McFarland campus provides inpatient care for adults with acute mental health problems.

Our team works together to provide evaluation, stabilization and medical management in a safe environment. We create a treatment plan focused on patients’ mental, emotional, physical and medical needs.

We also provide resources and support to help patients achieve optimal health. We offer a 24-hour referral line and intake evaluation with qualified nurses or master’s level social workers.

Job Requirements :

Master's Degree

5 years relevant experience.

Experience with group, family, and individual therapy is strongly preferred.

Must hold a current Tennessee Social Work License. Candidates who have recently graduated from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work or have moved to TN with another State's Master Social Work license are allowed a provision to obtain licensure from the TN State Board within six (6) months of hire date.

LCSW is strongly preferred.
