FIRE PROTECTION SALES/SERVICE TECHNICIAN
State Systems, Inc., the leading fire protection company in the Mid-South, is growing and is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our successful team in the Memphis area.
The chosen applicant must be a self-starter, can work independently and also in a team environment, must enjoy sales, meeting and talking to new people, must enjoy working with hands, be mechanical minded and must be proficient with the latest technology.
Job Duties:
Sell services and products within assigned territory, maintaining assigned sales/service quota and following established guidelines.
Identify prospects utilizing creative lead generating techniques.
Present sales presentation and proposal to prospects, identifying positive features and advantages of our products and services over those of the competition.
Follow up with prospects.
Inspect, service, install fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and exit/emergency lighting.
Process work orders and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved and standardized procedures.
Core Competencies:
Proficient computer skills in Windows based software and MS office 2000 or higher.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Good organizational skills.
Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record that meets company requirements
Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must possess strong communication, negotiating, and time management skills
Flexible Style; perseverance; action oriented; interpersonal savvy
Aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach); customer focused
Ability to work a full time schedule
Available for travel, nights and weekends to accommodate the customers' agenda
Ambitious results oriented individual with entrepreneurial drive
Physical Requirements & Exposures:
Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
Must be able to carry 75 pounds repeatedly
Must be able to push greater than 100 pounds as needed
Must be able to pull greater than 100 pounds as needed
Must be able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
Constant (5-8hrs/shift) standing, walking, handling items, and eye/hand/foot coordination
Frequently (2-5hrs/shift) lifting, carrying, repetitive motions, noise exposure, grasping items
Occasionally (up to 2hrs/shift) sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, balancing, reaching, crouching, exposure to weather
This position may require the handling of chemicals that may be skin and/or respiratory irritants. Person may also be exposed to ventilation areas which may have respiratory irritant. Must not be skin and respiratory sensitive to these materials and environments. MSDS are available.
Compensation
Compensation packages are commission based, rewarding hard working people for their efforts. Potential compensation for the first year is $35,000 to $45,000, with the potential for top performers to earn more in subsequent years.
Candidates must live in Memphis or surrounding areas.
Candidates must successfully complete an employment background investigation and drug screening
