Job Description - IT PMO Manager
IT PMO MANAGER NASHVILLE, TNTHE POSITION: ICS is looking for a Manager, IT PMO to join our growing client's team within the SaaS product space in Nashville, TN! The ideal candidate will have experience building Project Management methodologies, standards, tools, and governance from scratch. This person will not have direct reports, but will lead the PMO as a "Center of Excellence to help achieve better quality and consistency across projects. The Manager, IT PMO must have a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices, and substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development.WHAT YOU'LL DO: Project Management Governance:- Establish the PMO role and operating model (e.g. centralized or decentralized, areas of focus).
- Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc.
- Create a Center of Excellence' to nurture project management practitioners and share knowledge of industry best practices.
- Monitor compliance with policies and standards.
- Track and provide project status and audit reports.
- Manage the risk, issue, and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed.
- Conduct monitoring for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget.
- Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess which proposals have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment.
- Interface with executives to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges and keep them up-to-date with project risks and opportunities.
- Provide input and recommendations on the distribution of Project Managers across projects.
- IT Project Management experience within a SaaS Product Development organization
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified
- Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, tooling, and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology PPM)
- Budget, cost, and profitability management skills
- Knowledge of resource management tools
- Ability to clearly and effectively document project management approach and processes in writing.
- Credibility as a senior-level project leader
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture
- Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
- Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers, and vendor groups
