The company supplies core transport solutions on a local and long-haul fiber-optic network spanning approximately 150,000 miles.About this Role:As a Product Designer on the Digital Experience team, you will play a critical role in building and evolving innovative web products and features used by millions of our customers. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will determine user and business needs to ideate and deliver high-quality solutions that solve real user pain points and achieve key business goals. You will work closely with developers to ensure that concepts are translated into functional cross-platform solutions and help evolve our growing design system.Now is a particularly exciting time to join the team as we embark on a site redesign to transform and elevate our web presence. You will also have the opportunity to help shape and maintain a strong design culture across the organization, ensuring that every product and feature is human-centered, thoughtful, beautiful, and drives the growth of our business.This is a remote position and can sit anywhere in the United States.What You’ll Do:
Collaborate closely with the Product Development, Marketing and Sales teams to understand requirements and create innovative and user-friendly solutions.
Conduct Product Discovery, user research, and brainstorm initial product ideas.
Rapidly deliver high fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas, conduct usability tests, and iteratively design.
Present design work to working teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure final customer experience execution aligns with the original Product Design vision.
Partner with Brand and Creative teams to ensure site assets and copy align with brand guidelines and direction.
Support the execution of design aspects of the Kinetic site redesign, satisfying all aspects of contemporary web design best practices across platforms.
Help evolve and define a robust design system consisting of reusable components to minimize time-to-market and maximize design and development efficiency.
Do You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
4+ years of experience in product design.
Experience with consumer e-commerce or subscription based digital products.
Fluency with Figma/Figjam and other design, prototyping and collaboration tools.
Experience in user research, usability testing, web analytics, and agile development principles.
Demonstrable exposure to, and participation in, formal Product Discovery techniques involving a diverse set of stakeholders.
Excellent understanding of the product design process and a keen eye for visual design.
Fluency in best practices for usability, information architecture, and design.
Experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams and working directly with developers to implement designs.
Experience building and maintaining design systems a plus.
A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions.
