Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Austin, Texas. This role is within the non-profit industry and primarily involves managing accounts payable, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed. Responsibilities: Analyze, document, and review accounts payable invoices related to grants and ensure their compliance with grant requirements before payment. Collaborate with team members in preparing grant proposals by compiling necessary financial data. Ensure all financial grant requirements are met and maintained. Review and verify the grant time allocation report for correct coding. Prepare and submit all grant reimbursements within the established deadlines. Assist in the data collection and preparation of monthly and quarterly performance reports. Maintain financial compliance for all grants in accordance with federal, state, local, and private rules and regulations. Assist with single audit data collection. Contribute to other accounting tasks and reconciliations as assigned. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as necessary. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience in Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately Experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks Knowledge and experience with SAP accounting software Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Non-Profit sector Strong communication and organizational skills Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy in work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
