Family private dental office is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate is friendly, a positive person and will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and in delivering exceptional services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about dentistry and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.

Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and ensuring cleanliness of the treatment area.

Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) and pano as directed by the dentist.

Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care.

Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.

Monitor vital signs of patients as needed during treatments.

Assist with general and some pediatric dentistry procedures, providing comfort and support to younger patients.

Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.

Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Skills:

Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix.

Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dental practices.

Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.

Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory.

Familiarity with medical coding for insurance purposes is a plus.

Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and clinical tasks.

2 year experience is recommended but not required.
