Zello, Inc. in Austin, Texas seeks Staff Engineer.
Responsibilities: The Staff Engineer is responsible for leading high-impact technical initiatives across Zello’s enterprise. The Staff Engineer will focus on building scalable, reliable, and performant systems for Zello’s real-time voice communication platform. This position will also provide technical leadership for cross functional teams within Zello’s organization. Specific duties for the Staff Engineer include: designing and implementing architectural solutions; defining and establishing best engineering practices; influencing architecture and long-term engineering direction; building and implementing backend services using PHP, Go, and Python; collaborating cross-functionally with product, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver customer-centric features; designing and deploying salable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Docker; leading the integration and customization of enterprise SSO/SLO; mentoring engineering and facilitating design reviews to improve technical decision-making across the organization; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Austin, TX.
Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: Five (5) years of experience in job offered or related position. Other special requirements include: Five (5) years of experience developing functional applications for both iOS and Android platforms; five (5) years of experience architecting AWS serverless infrastructure using Lambda, DynamoDB, and other programing languages and functions; five (5) years experience using programing languages including PHP, Go, and Python and platforms including AWS, Docker, and SSO/SLO; and five (5) years of experience integrating new AI systems in existing technologies to enhance platform performance.
In lieu of a Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
