We are confidentially hiring a Senior-Level BAS / HVAC Controls Technician for a well-established commercial mechanical / building automation team in Austin, Texas.
This role is ideal for an experienced controls professional who understands DDC systems, BAS programming, commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting within commercial buildings.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior BAS / HVAC Controls Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controls on commercial projects and facilities throughout the Austin area.
This is a long-term, stable opportunity with top-tier compensation for the right skill set.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, program, commission, and service BAS/DDC systems
Advanced troubleshooting of controls, sensors, actuators, and networks
Perform point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and system startup
Modify control logic, sequences, alarms, and BAS graphics
Work with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks
Interface with mechanical systems (RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, etc.)
Provide technical leadership and mentorship when needed
Document work clearly and professionally
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
5+ years experience in BAS / HVAC controls (senior-level)
Strong background with DDC systems and BAS troubleshooting
Experience with major platforms such as Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Carrier, Delta, or similar
Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$42–$64/hour depending on experience and technical depth
