Come build your career with us!Job Summary and QualificationsAs the Controller in our Accounting Department, you will report to the Hospital CFO & ACFO and assist with directing and coordinating the financial activities of the organization. We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning and is motivated to advance in their career.What You Will Do In This Role:

Oversee the functions of the Accounting Department to ensure completion of work in specified time frames according to departmental, Division or Corporate policies.

Oversee the timely completion of month end close for the Hospital and its related COID’s and manage the post-close Monthly Operating Review analysis.

Maintain accuracy of the balance sheet and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and monthly certifications.

Coordinate the Hospital’s annual budget and oversee the preparation of cost report and corporate tax workpapers.

Ensure the Hospital maintains appropriate internal controls and will coordinate responses for internal and external audits. You will validate that the Hospital follows all HCA Accounting Policy Guidance.

Coordinate the completion and submission of quarterly SOX reporting and the semi-annual Internal Control reporting.

Take a lead role in the monthly projection process.

Prepare lease reviews for determination of capital or operating leases in accordance with HCA accounting for leases accounting policy guide

Create and foster an environment that encourages open communication within the department and with other department leaders and Hospital management. Provide direction, leadership, and educational needs to the Accounting Department to ensure quality of service and technical expertise.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

Master’s Degree preferred

Minimum five years or more experience in hospital finance and accounting 

Minimum three years recent experience in a supervisor capacity

Minimum three years’ experience in mainframe accounting systems

CPA preferred
