This job is a member of the Fleet Planning and Analysis Team within the FP&A and Corporate Development Division.
Responsible for the management of American’s fleet assets and efficiently deploying capital to support American's fleet needs.
What you'll do
Support the development of the Company's long-term fleet strategy
Monitor aircraft and industry trends to distill implications for the airline's fleet strategy
Develop the airline's 5 year fleet plan with consideration for aircraft deliveries, network requirements, and operational constraints
Analyze aircraft economics in support of aircraft acquisitions, retirements, and other fleet investments
Conduct financial analysis, including valuations using discounted cash flow modeling, sensitivity analysis, etc., to support investment decisions into the fleet
Partner with key stakeholders, FP&A, Network Planning, Tech Ops, Corporate Communications, Accounting, and aircraft manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate and implement fleet projects
All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or similar field, or equivalent experience/training
3 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
MBA, CFA or other advanced certification
Strong understanding of airline / aircraft economics
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Excellent analytical thinking capabilities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple organizations and seniority levels
Strong organization skills, with ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as external contacts
Proficient with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
