About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):10About the Role:The Team:We are seeking a bright, self-motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for build-out, configuration, deploy, scale, orchestration and monitoring in supporting infrastructure and our release pipeline for global commercial software platforms. Candidate must be comfortable in driving Continuous Integration / Deployment initiatives in the cloud.Responsibilities and Impact:
Partner with Development and Architecture teams to lead and define standards in IaC for Software Solutions.
Automate and streamline our infrastructure deployment.
Must have excellent knowledge of “infrastructure as code”.
Tools and automation-based monitoring of production environments to provide proactive alerts on system health and reliability.
Expert-level background in Linux administration.
Good background in Windows administration.
Troubleshooting and resolving root cause issues in our dev, test, and production internal and cloud environments.
Compensation/Benefits Information : (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,000 to $147,000. The final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. 5+ years of experience building enterprise DevOps pipelines in a commercial environment (still hands on)
Expert in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, CodeBuild, Bamboo, Jenkins or similar
Deep knowledge of AWS Services including:EKS/HELM/Flux, S3, Lamda, VPC, Route 53, RDS, EC2, Load Balancing, Cloudwatch, Cloudfront
Proven history of DevOps in AWS
Good understanding of networking
Experienced in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc
Experienced in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or similar
Experienced in Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar
Containerization and Orchestration
Experience with using Git
Open minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations.
Comfortable working with global teams operating across different time zones.
Must be an excellent communicator both written and verbal.
