Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency – February 2025Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN’s to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on February 24 th , 2025 .Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN’s an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.Where you will be working:· Work location: Texas Health Denton: 3000 N I-35 Denton, Texas 76201· Work environment: Med Surgo Work hours: Full-time, (3)-12 hour shifts; Rotating weekends and HolidaysTexas Health Denton- Texas Health Denton is a 255-bed, full-service hospital providing convenient care to people across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1987. With more than 1,100 employees and 450 physicians on our medical staff we’re one of Denton County’s largest employers.We specialize in Cancer Care, Neck & Back Program, Critical Care, Neonatology, CT Cardiac Imaging, Neurology, Electrophysiology, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Emergency Care, Robotic Surgery, Endovascular Surgery, Stroke Care, General Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery, Heart & Vascular Services, Women & Infants Care, Interventional Radiology and Wound Care & Hyperbaric Treatment.Texas Health Denton is a Joint Commission-accredited Primary (Level II) Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center, a Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence and a Magnet® designated hospital.Our four-story specialty center for women and infants features 12 labor and delivery beds, 2 C-section suites along with 6 antepartum and 24 postpartum beds. Texas Health Denton is the city’s only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and is the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County. The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.Please provide the following during the application:

Exemplar/Essay: In one-to-two pages, tell a story of a clinical situation that was especially meaningful to you as a student and that has helped shape your practice today

Things you need for the position:

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required

Acceptance into THR residency program required

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred

Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred

Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required
