Where You Will Work Our rod and refining plant in El Paso, Texas, is a key contributor to our ranking as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of continuous cast copper rod – a main material used in the manufacturing of wire and cable products. The refinery has the potential to operate at an annual production capacity of about 900 million pounds of copper cathode, which is sufficient to refine all the copper anode we produce at our Miami operations in Arizona. The refinery also produces nickel carbonate, copper telluride and autoclaved slimes material containing gold, silver, platinum and palladium. The beautiful city of El Paso features three universities, many community colleges and numerous schools. Some popular attractions include the International Museum of Art, National Border Patrol Museum and Franklin Mountain State Park. DescriptionUnder general supervision, provides design and drawing services, including but not limited to layouts, detail and assembly drawings, and schematics to support Operations or the Engineering unit at assigned site:
Works from notes, verbal instructions, sketches and drawings, or Engineering specification; consolidates the information to be used to prepare working plans, layouts and detailed drawings
Reviews the design and helps resolve the details not completely defined
Develops specifications, designs or drawings using Engineering principals, established company standards, procedures and instructions
Ensures the proper level of documentation for all projects including drawings and parts lists utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other automated and manual tools
Reviews Engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to established design standards; verifies completed work
Performs other duties as required
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Advanced technical training through the completion of a two (2) year trade/technical school program and two (2) years of experience in Engineering Design/Drafting, OR
Associate's degree in Drafting and Design, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in Engineering Design/Drafting
Ability to create and read Engineering drawings or blueprints
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering
Skilled in using CAD hardware and software
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Criteria/Conditions
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Work is performed in an office setting, with occasional work in a mine or manufacturing setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

What We Offer YouThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $30.00 - $41.00/hour . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
