Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Awards Sales & Customer Service Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid role perfect for someone who excels at customer service and sales but also has a technical aptitude for graphic layout.
You will be a primary point of contact for our clients, guiding them from their initial inquiry to the final product. You will help them select the perfect award and then use guide our art department to prepare the layout for personalization. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, and has a keen eye for design and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service (Approx. 70-80% of time)
Greet and assist walk-in customers, and respond promptly to phone and email inquiries.
Listen to customer needs to understand their event, budget, and timeline.
Provide expert recommendations from our catalog of acrylic, glass, crystal, and traditional awards.
Prepare detailed and accurate quotes and sales orders.
Manage customer relationships, providing timely updates on order status and proofs.
Act as a helpful guide, ensuring a positive and seamless experience for every client.
Graphic Design & Order Prep (Approx. 20-30% of time)
Guide the art department on art proofs.
Handle customer-provided artwork, and navigate opening and viewing files to send to art department
Crucially, proofread all layouts for spelling, grammar, dates, and design accuracy before sending to the client and to production.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, sales, or customer service).
Exceptional attention to detail. In our business, spelling a name correctly is everything!
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to juggle multiple orders at once.
A positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn.
Comfortable using standard office software (Email, Word, Excel).
Preferred (But Not Required):
Experience in the awards, trophy, promotional products, or printing industry.
Previous experience in Corel Draw is a plus. (Please be prepared to show samples or complete a brief skills test).
Familiarity with production equipment like laser engravers or UV printers.
