We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team at our Glen Flora location in Glen Flora, Texas.
You will be providing sales support to the outside sales representatives by processing and assembling orders over the telephone, email, fax, EDI or other means, as well as providing general support to Administration, Distribution and Production departments. This is an on-site position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Works directly with inside and outside sales representatives in order entry, sourcing plant material, contacting customers, sales support, securing futures, generating marketing and sales tools.
· Receive and respond to daily customer inquiries and orders over the telephone, e-mail, EDI, fax or other means of communication.
· Timely process daily order requirements and meet cut-offs for overall sales team.
· Input orders in the computer system using internal Oracle software.
· Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook. PROFICIENCY WITH EXCEL IS REQUIRED.
· Check all orders for completeness and accuracy.
· Communicate daily with the Inside Sales Representatives, Outside Sales Representatives, Distribution Department and customers.
· Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services.
· Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
· Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
· Tracks stock levels and knows general availability of the nursery.
· Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own farm's production and delivery schedules.
· Builds and maintains customer relationships.
· Attends and participates in all product knowledge and training calls/meetings.
· Provides administrative support to marketing and other sales-supporting departments
· Works with inside and outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
· Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
· Travels on yard tours as required.
· Participates in physical inventory as needed.
· Prepares reports of business transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent. PROFICIENCY IN EXCEL IS REQUIRED.
· Knowledge of plant material in the landscape environment a plus.
· Bilingual Spanish is not required but a plus.
· Valid Driver’s License.
· Must have computer skills and be comfortable operating a computer with a keyboard and mouse for 90% of a work day.
· Proficiency in Windows desktop operations including Excel, Word and Outlook.
· Must be able to multi task and deal with high pressure situations and deadlines at all times.

Pay: $12.50 - $14.50 per hour
