Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Houston, Texas. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the monthly closing process, managing general reporting, and supporting audits in our industry. This role is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in intercompany accounting, balance sheet account reconciliation, and internal reporting.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the monthly closing process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Handle general reporting tasks, including the preparation of borrowing base and securitization reports. Perform account analysis to monitor financial performance and identify potential issues. Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial record keeping. Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the company's cash position. Carry out intercompany analysis to ensure accurate allocation and reconciliation of transactions. Provide audit support, including the preparation of financial statements and other documentation required for year-end, bank, and miscellaneous audits. Record tax entries to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as necessary. Requirements Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Proficient in Intercompany and Intercompany Accounting. Experience in preparing Annual Audited Financial Statements is a must. Expertise in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is required. Strong skills in Internal Reporting are essential. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities are desired. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. A professional accounting certification such as CPA is preferred. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations regarding finance and tax.
