Corporate Tax Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the industry. As a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting functions, auditing processes and utilizing accounting software systems like NetSuite for efficient workflow. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of sales and franchise tax returns across multiple states Ensure the company's NetSuite system is correctly set up for all tax jurisdictions Conduct audits on previous tax-related tasks to maintain accuracy Utilize your knowledge of accrual accounting to maintain balance sheet accounts Handle accounts payable (AP) processes and ensure timely payment of invoices Leverage your skills in ERP solutions to streamline accounting processes Use your expertise in multi-state tax regulations to ensure the company's compliance Conduct monthly sales tax analysis and provide accurate reports Assist in resolving any issues related to accounting functions Regularly review and update the company's accounting and auditing procedures to ensure they are up to date and comply with state and federal laws.
