General Dentist

The General Dentist will be responsible for providing dental care that includes examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, operative dentistry, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry. Dental Services may also include writing prescription of medications, providing dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, dental sealants and oral hygiene instructions including nutritional counselling.  Primary duty will be providing dental coverage for dental emergencies.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and treat problems teeth, gums and tissues of the mouth, including preventative counselling. Provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and aspects of dental care. Remove tooth decay, fill cavities, examine x-rays, straighten teeth, perform extractions, and repair fractured teeth within the capabilities of the facility. Perform limited corrective surgery on gums and supporting bones to treat gum diseases. Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.  Provide dental and community outreach programs, including school visits, community health fairs, and wellness programs. Propose metrics that incorporate dental health with nutritional health and physical and spiritual well-being Document care in electronic health record. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.  Additional Duties: Compliance with International SOS policies and procedures Direct line reports:  The following positions are to be supervised directly by the incumbent; however, this may be subject to change in line with changing business needs.  Dental Hygienist or Equivalent Dental Technician
