Job Description

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for assessing, documenting, resolving assigned or received support tasks, and assisting support team members. Among the support tasks will be Level 1 network issues, including but not limited to WiFi Troubleshooting, Router/Gateway Configuration, and IP conflicts. At the core of our support, we communicate and promote our culture while resolving issues.

  • Assess: The Support Specialist will be expected to review incoming support requests and begin troubleshooting the highest priority requests first. If the only outstanding tickets are of normal to low priority, the Support Specialist will be expected to multitask and handle several issues as efficiently as possible.
  • Document: Documenting the issue is important to managing the issues from a team perspective. This allows the issue to come in and be addressed by anyone on the team if necessary. It also gives the team an historical record that may be useful for further issues or if the issue occurs at any location.
  • Resolve: To the best of their ability, the Support Specialist will work to resolve the issue presented as quickly as possible. If the issue exceeds their knowledge or expertise, they can recruit the help of the Support Manager or the IT Infrastructure team members.
  • Provision: Administer provisioning for CBA team members to give them access to the intranet and related services.

To successfully fulfill the role, the IT Support Specialist will need to:

  • Work well in a team
  • Have existing IT skills and an aptitude for expanding them.
  • Look for areas of improvement and make appropriate recommendations
  • Be diligent in maintaining assigned responsibilities
  • Maintain a calm and helpful demeanor
  • Be comfortable researching a solution (if there is no documentation)

Qualifications

  • Highly computer proficient including ability to learn new software
  • Highly organized, efficient and agile in tasks amidst a busy environment
  • Upbeat, fast paced, yet able to put others at ease
  • Able to quickly recognize the highest priority need and act/delegate accordingly
  • Can stop/start multiple tasks and pick up where left off quickly
  • Articulate and professional, excellent communication skills
  • The ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment

Education & Experience

  • Experience in IT helpdesk support, Network Troubleshooting a plus.
  • Proficient in web tools
  • Proficient in Email, Calendar and task tracking software
  • BA/BS is preferred, but not required
