Description/Job SummaryDescription/Job SummaryInteplast Group Corporation, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager/Engineer with a background in chemical engineering to join our manufacturing paper bag plant. The successful candidate will play a critical role in product development, automation, machine reliability, training, expansion, strategy, and implementation of best practices.

Product Development:

Lead the design and development of new paper bag products, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.

Collaborate with R&D and production teams to innovate and improve existing products.

Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the paper bag industry.

Automation:

Oversee the implementation and optimization of automation technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new automation systems into existing processes.

Monitor and analyze automation performance, recommending improvements as necessary.

Machine Reliability:

Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure maximum machine reliability and uptime.

Conduct root cause analysis of machine failures and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule regular maintenance and upgrades.

Training:

Design and deliver training programs for production staff on new technologies, processes, and best practices.

Ensure all team members are adequately trained on safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.

Expansion:

Participate in strategic planning for plant expansion and capacity increases.

Lead or support projects related to facility upgrades and new equipment installations.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

Strategy:

Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for product innovation and manufacturing excellence.

Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.

Work with senior leadership to align manufacturing goals with overall business objectives.

Best Practices:

Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

Stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and methodologies where applicable.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper bag or related industry.

Proven experience in product development, automation, and machine reliability.

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Leadership experience with a track record of training and developing staff.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Familiarity with ERP and manufacturing software systems.

Working Conditions:

This position will be based in a manufacturing plant environment.

Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, and vendor visits.

Ability to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the role.
