Description We're on the lookout for an efficient Portfolio Accountant with a keen eye for detail to become a part of our finance team. The Portfolio Accountant’s role includes administration and reporting of financial transactions linked to a portfolio consisting of several real estate properties owned by our subsidiaries. With a deep understanding of GAAP, real estate accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting, this person must guarantee precision and adherence to accounting standards and guidelines. This position does not involve any supervisory duties.Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Accounting: Record, reconcile, validate, and timely report portfolio transactions such as sales, purchases, and accruals. Ensure all inter-company transactions and debts are accurate. Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders, create performance reports, and assist in the preparation of financial statements for audits and compliance. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all transactions meet accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies. Assist in audits by providing required documents. Reconciliation and Analysis: Regularly reconcile all balance sheet accounts, identify financial trends, and work with fellow finance team members to ensure accuracy of financial records. Client and Vendor Interaction: Resolve queries, ensure transaction completeness, and timely process financial operations. Process Improvement: Identify enhancements to streamline accounting processes, develop and improve accounting systems and tools.Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field; possessing a CPA or similar certification is advantageous. At least 5 years of experience in accounting, specifically in reconciliations, fixed assets, and real estate transactions. Proficient knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting software (e.g., Excel, Yardi, QuickBooks, MRI). Capability of effectively managing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with precise attention to detail regarding financial recording. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field is compulsory.
