This is a multi-faceted role responsible for organizational compliance, policy management, Texas Public Information Act and e-Discovery support, data privacy contractual controls, legislative analysis, and other compliance-related responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, detailed oriented, and a thorough understanding of legal and/or regulatory frameworks.Key Responsibilities:

Serve in the HITS TPIA/e-Discovery support team facilitating TPIA requests and providing e-Discovery support.

Collaborate and work with various other City departments to gather and review information as required for TPIA responses.

Monitor and analyze legislative developments that impact the organization and in the area of data privacy.

Provide regular updates and strategic advice to the executive leadership team on legislative matters.

Prepare and present legislative analysis, position papers, and reports on legislative issues.

Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs and policies.

Provide departmental audit support and audit management.

Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters.

Other special projects and duties as assigned.

You must be eligible to validate contract work experience. WORKING CONDITIONSThis position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration , Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed. Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.EXPERIENCE Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required.Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.LICENSE NonePREFERENCESPreference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. Preferences will be given to candidates with the following:

Candidates with a legal background, including bachelor’s degree in law, political science, criminal justice, business, or a related field. Experience in the legal field, such as administrative staff, paralegal, legal assistant, legal clerk are preferred.

Familiarity or experience working in or within the government sector – state, county, or municipality.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and/or regulatory documents.

Able to perform legal research and proficiency in legislative tracking tools.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational or project management skills.

Experience in managing databases, data sets, and docket deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and handling data.

Ability to work under pressure and without close supervision, and to independently produce error-free documents.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365 suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint, and can quickly grasp specialized software programs.

Demonstrates a positive attitude with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
