Description A well-known law firm in Houston is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful applicant will assist attorneys in complex clerical tasks requiring exceptional knowledge of legal terminology and legal processes, including proficient skills in redaction procedures.Responsibilities:
Prepare, format, proo, and redact legal documents and correspondence.
Organize and electronically file documents leveraging our case management software.
Maintain lawyers' calendars, planning and arranging conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
Ensure client confidence by keeping information confidential.
Respond to client inquiries and keep them updated on case statuses.
Assist with case development and fact gathering.
Requirements
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
Strong understanding and experience in redaction procedures and best practices.
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe NUANCE and case management software.
Exceptional ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field favoured.
Paralegal certificate desirable.
