Construction contractor in the Rio Grande Valley is seeking experienced superintendent who can organize and run civil site work and paving projects.
Competitive Base Pay plus commission. The company offers 401(K) with employer match after one year of employment.
Duties:
Directly oversee construction crews ensuring safe and accurate performance of scope for our customers.
This key employee will have input in company decision-making, including hiring decisions, project logistics and other operational strategies.
Enforce company policy and procedure and safety protocol
Ensure work is performed according to project schedule and specifications
Communicate manpower, equipment, material, and subcontractor needs to the company owner
Project management including ordering material, coordinating trucks, managing the sequence of scope of work. Job Estimating experience is a plus
Management of crew, evaluating employees, and coordinating training including OSHA training, CPR/1st Aid, etc.
Ensuring Job Hazard Analysis are performed and conducting weekly tailgate meetings with crew
Compliance with all safety paperwork and communication with office for record-keeping
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret plans
Minimum 5 years relevant management experience
Possess true knowledge of site work performance and asphalt, concrete construction. Heavy equipment operating experience is highly preferred
Knowledge of regulations concerning safety, environmental, hazmat, labor laws, and emission
Ability to communicate effectively with company management and customers
Able to work outside in inclement weather, and overtime as needed.
Basic computer skills a plus

Pay: Starting at $75,000.00 per year or more depending on experience
