Raytheon is seeking a Freight Management Specialist who will be a centralized subject matter expert (SME) in freight management and provide transportation support across all Raytheon sites. The SME will focus on managing transportation service provider relationships, standardizing processes, and manage escalations for distressed shipments. The freight management specialist will identify opportunities for improvement, lead related projects and work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to improve overall transportation efficiency. What You Will Do:
Collaborate with RTX Logistics team in support of freight bids by mode and down select of carrier to support operations.
Participate in CORE engagement and continuous improvement activities across the logistics organization.
Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics Execution teams in the identifying, sharing, and implanting of best practices.
Participate in Transportation Service Provider quarterly business reviews to provide input on partner key performance indicators.
Create freight bookings and manage supplier and specialized full truckload shipments.
Gather information, submit claims, and see the loss/damage case through resolution.
Conduct freight analysis into shipping lanes, cost metrics, and savings opportunities.
Drive innovation in logistics processes and technologies to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Solve difficult to moderately complex issues and establish solutions to enhance the overall performance of the job function.
Communicate within department and cross functionally with stakeholders.
Influence others within and outside of responsibilities at an operational level.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in transportation.
Knowledge of cost structures by transportation mode.
Use of lean principles and/or implementation of Lean strategies.
Experience with 49 CFR and/or IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3 years relevant experience.
Experience using Transportation Management Systems.
Experience in Aerospace & Defense industry.
Certifications such as APICS CSCP, CLTD, or PMP.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
