Sensors: Space and Air division in McKinney, TX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer [Real-Time Embedded] to be an active participant on the software development team, working with cutting edge technologies in products.What you will do:

Perform requirements analysis / definition to ensure the system will meet all customer requirements.

Participate in software design and development, as well as supporting system integration and test, all using the established Raytheon engineering processes and practices.

Support design, development, testing and integration of hardware devices.

Work as part of a multi-disciplined team where there are experienced engineers to provide mentoring and support.

Use modular design approaches and/or agile software development techniques for a high quality, supportable software system.

Mentor junior engineers as needed

Maintain Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Work onsite at McKinney, TX [relocation eligible]

Travel and support off-site facilities as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Minimum of 8 years professional experience in software design, development, integration and testing utilizing C / C or similar.

Design, implementation, and verification of real-time embedded software experience.

Linux and C/C programming experience.

Experience with direct control of hardware devices and registers.

Must be able to acquire U.S. government issued Secret security clearance after start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and utilization, including Static Code Analysis, Automated Build, and Automated Test techniques.

Experience translating Matlab algorithms into C source code.

Understanding of Terrain Following/Terrain Avoidance systems.

Experience developing and integrating software for a large Radar or other sensor system.

Experience as liaison between customer and product development team

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
