Keith Zars Pools, Ltd., the "Best-in-Class" residential and commercial pool builder in Texas, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Welder for our San Antonio, TX home office.

The Heavy Equipment Welder will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex heavy equipment welds. You must be able to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with great precision. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding practices, using acetylene and electrical welding equipment, welding standards, and trade procedures, processes, and techniques.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performs mechanical welding repair and maintenance work on company vehicles, heavy equipment, and other equipment, including dump trucks, tractors/attachments, track loaders, backhoes, utility trailers, diesel engines, water pumps, hydraulics, and other equipment.

Must be able to determine the best welding method and welding materials to meet project requirements.

Fabricate, assemble, and build metal structures based on precise specifications as needed.

Responds to emergency breakdowns or make service calls to work sites or other locations as needed; hauls, transports, loads, unloads or moves various trucks, equipment, or other materials associated with department projects and work activities.

Collaborate with team members to ensure project completion within deadlines.

Repairs products by dismantling, gouging, using a cutting torch, and rewelding to repair and reassemble parts or equipment.

Fabricate and repair broken or cracked metal objects and heavy equipment parts using strong knowledge and understanding of different welding techniques.

Miscellaneous duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Min. High School Diploma/GED, prefer Associate degree or Certification but not required.

3+ years of progressive repair and welding experience with heavy equipment. A combination of equivalent experience and education may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Demonstrated proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus.

Must be able to field layout and fabricate in steel.

Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.

Possess a valid Driver's License and good driving history.

Proven welding experience with front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, concrete mixers, and bobcat/cat equipment.

Must be able to pass complete background and drug screen.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot and cold temperatures.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to read and interpret English, such as equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, work instructions, etc.
