We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, particularly with tractors and trailers, and will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of our fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and other critical components of tractors and trailers.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with management to develop maintenance schedules and budgets.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
- certification in diesel technology preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary, but we also value the family life too.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience or hourly depending on what the applicant prefers.
- 90k-130k depending on experience
