Ambulatory Epic Analyst III / IV for Epic Solutions CenterLocation: Texas Medical Center-Houston, TexasHotCategory: Information TechnologyMcGovern Medical School at UTHealth HoustonRequisition #: 2400020WPosition Summary:UTHealth Houston is looking for an Ambulatory Analyst in Epic who also has broad Epic knowledge to work with our Epic Solutions Center. You will be assisting clinicians as they encounter issues with the software, so we need someone with a great understanding of clinical and surgical workflows. Our analysts lead the design, development, and implementation of new or enhanced solutions for business processes in support of software system implementations and upgrades. They facilitate the delivery of resolutions forbusiness process changes for information systems projects. They will need to be able to identify opportunities for business process improvement and initiate projects to make improvements with or without deploying information technology.You must at least be certified in Epic Ambulatory for this role, but it will be preferable if you have certifications in any of the other modules: OpTIme, Anesthesia, or Cadence. You will be trouble-shooting common provider issues as well as addressing bigger concerns as they develop. We prefer candidates with some experience in either technical support or training. You will need to have great communication and customer service skills.This role is remote, but currently, UTHealth Houston prefers candidates who live in the state of Texas.What we do here changes the world. Position Key Accountabilities:

Leads projects from discovery and initiation through execution and implementation. Prepares business cases and including cost/benefit analysis for proposed processes.

Facilitates decision-making and governance forums. Creates detailed communication plans and roadmaps. Facilitates the design of new solutions and optimizations that support business processes. Works with business partners, system architects, and training to design, modify, test, and implement new or improved business processes or modifications to the IT system. Designs technical solutions to solve business problems.

Analyzes current business processes and works with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes. Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating requirements.

Conducts business systems analysis, data modeling, process flow modeling, and process improvement. Analyzes business processes and studies system capabilities of existing information systems. Interviews stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts for fact-finding and requirement gathering. Maps existing business processes. Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional specifications. Documents existing business processes and business rules. Identifies the current- and future-state business processes. Constructs Visio charts and diagrams for workflows.

Performs reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports. Recommends changes to senior management using analytics to support recommendations. Actively participates in the implementation of approved changes. It helps the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support it.

Delivers organizational change and implementation plans. Analyzes impacts on training and organizational changes—designs training materials and trains users in new procedures and systems.

Communicates with clients and co-workers via oral and written communication, including presentations.

Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Communicates project status and objectives. Communicates with project team and constituencies.

Reviews post implementation documentation prior to submitting to leadership to achieve set goals. Provides post-implementation support.

Supporting leadership, serves as team lead for entry and mid-level solutions analysts within the enterprise.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:MUST BE EPIC CERTIFIED IN AT LEAST AMBULATORY.Ability to architect complex IT and business solutions.Experience with PMI, Six Sigma, or IIBA standards preferred.Advanced Microsoft Office skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical problem-solving skills.Detail oriented.Highly collaborative.Intermediate experience managing multiple projects.Experience with Epic or other EHRs is required.Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree required preferably in Information Systems or Healthcare Administration.Minimum Experience:Six (6) years of experience designing, building, and implementing business solutions using information technology.
