Job description:

Micro Focus has chosen to implement a full suite of Informatica products to act as the data toolset across the enterprise. This includes Power Center, Data Quality, Master data Management, Enterprise data Catalogue and Axon (Business glossary management). To support this we intend to build a central technical function to support, develop and test these applications as the company grows and continues to drive efficiency.

This role will support the team by administering the technical environments that each is using. This will involve multiple environments dev, test, production and multiple applications. It will also involve creating and implementing a strategy for managing our controlling the code. Building on this it will involve deploying code and assisting the development team with ensuring the smooth running of the systems and problem solving any issues that are found.

Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of Informatica Administrator experience
  • Awareness of environments management including infrastructure specification and stand-up, network and connectivity management and working through security / firewall constraints
  • Awareness of data migration testing, cutover and execution planning specifically focused on ensuring the required environments and connectivity is in place to support successful testing cycles and go-live delivery

Work Experience:
  • Experience of delivering in Agile and Waterfall SDLC variants

Education / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related degree
Key Tasks / Account abilities
  • Ability to understand code and branching
  • Deployment of code to various environments
  • Deployment and control of code for the full data tooling suite - Vertica, Voltage, MDM, Power Center, Data Quality, Axon, EDC
  • Understanding of servers and networking
  • Ability to work with a 3rd part hardware supplier
  • Understanding of Virtual Machine environment
  • Strong root cause analysis skills and experience
  • Able to triage issues and focus on the most important
  • Ability to organize and coordinate the environment needs of complicated projects to deliver what is needed by the development team
  • Strong focused delivery style, ability to work with uncertainty and limited initial information
  • Ability to work through complex internal and external processes, gather and document technical detail and share with stakeholders and work with multiple suppliers to achieve outcomes

  • Quality of code repository
  • Ability to branch and deploy code
  • Environments supporting the systems are available and connected when needed
