Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI certified with UT Shear Wave Level II)

We are seeking an experienced AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform structural steel inspection services on commercial, industrial, and public works construction projects. The successful candidate will conduct shop and field inspections of structural steel welding, bolting, and nondestructive testing activities while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.ResponsibilitiesPerform shop and field inspections of structural steel welding and bolting activities.Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, AWS standards, and applicable building codes.Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and inspection requirements.Perform and document welding inspections in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.Coordinate and review nondestructive testing (NDT) activities and results.Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and code requirements.Prepare accurate daily reports, inspection documentation, and project records.Maintain complete and organized project files, including reports, field notes, correspondence, RFIs, and supporting documentation.Communicate inspection findings and project updates to project managers, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.Identify and document non-conforming work and verify corrective actions when required.Travel to project sites as needed to support inspection activities throughout the region.Perform inspections in accordance with company quality standards and safety procedures.
