Extra Space is seeking a detail-oriented Risk Management Insurance Analyst for our Salt Lake City corporate office. The Risk Management team plays a critical role in safeguarding our business by identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks. This position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate across departments, contributing to strategic initiatives that strengthen our risk mitigation efforts and improve company profitability.Key Responsibilities
Insurance Program Support : Assist with all elements of the corporate and captive insurance programs, including underwriting data management, renewals, claims oversight, billing, and allocation processes.
Financial and Data Analysis : Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and loss allocation efforts, contributing to risk reduction strategies.
Billing and Invoicing Oversight : Oversee billing and invoicing related to insurance programs, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Risk Database Management : Maintain and update databases with property information essential for insurance renewals, collaborating closely with property management and relevant teams.
Claims and Loss Analysis : Work with the claims team to manage and process workers' compensation and general liability claims. Analyze claims data regularly to identify trends, develop insights, and propose actionable risk mitigation strategies.
System Administration : Supervise and enhance the use of the risk management information system (RMIS), ensuring it supports accurate, real-time risk reporting and analysis.
Compliance : Work with vendors, banks, and other partners in issuing certificates of insurance.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance or risk management.
Experience : Background in insurance, risk management, or finance with a focus on data analysis, budgeting, and claims management.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher); familiarity with risk management software or databases is a plus.
Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams.
Analytical Abilities : Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to interpret claims data, recognize trends, and propose data-driven risk management solutions.
