PAY RANGE:

Sr. Safety Coordinator: $79,100 - $105,400 - $131,800

Lead Safety Coordinator: $93,100 - $124,100 - $155,100Scheduled Work Hours:Generally, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Other hours required for off-shift meetings, emergencies, or storm coverage).Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Exhibit a strong field presence to drive employee engagement from a Safety perspective.

Design, develop and implement Safety training material for plant personnel.

Exhibit strong understanding of Human & Org Performance concepts and support cultural acceptance.

Coordinate testing to include Audiograms, Ear fit testing, Respirator fit testing.

Coordinate physical condition audits, incipient fire training.

Embody a team-oriented mindset, collaborate with peers across Generation Safety & Training to share best practices.

Lead in-plant safety committee meetings and support monthly safety meetings.

Support site RMP/PSM initiatives.

Collaborate with plant stakeholders to identify safety solutions to drive continuous improvement.Education and Experience Requirements:

A High school diploma or equivalent is required. The role requires candidates to have a minimum of 5 years experience with operating and/or maintaining power generation equipment. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Applied Knowledge – 5 years of Power Generation experience.

Oral Expression – Must have the ability to communicate with others clearly and effectively.

Written Communication Skills – Able to draft correspondence to clearly communicate and perform technical writing duties.

Self-Reliance – Must be able to perform in a semi-autonomous position and manage multiple priorities.

Must have strong human relations skills; ability to work effectively with individuals in various union and non-union positions and levels of the Company.

Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Work Management Systems, and Learning Management Systems

Coachability – Receptive to feedback and willing to provide feedback to others.

Thorough understanding of safe work practices and union contracts.Working Conditions:Work location will be Iatan power plant, but at times will be required to support initiatives at other Evergy locations in collaboration with peers. Working conditions will require indoor and outdoor work at our generation facilities. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
