The Senior Measurement Advisor serves as the measurement expert throughout assessment design, implementation, and improvement. The Senior Measurement Advisor owns the customer relationships with regards to measurement for a portfolio of state contracts, providing ongoing consultation and understanding the customer’s viewpoint and goals.

Represents the customer’s implementation intent and goals to the internal functional teams and represents the functional team’s perspective on implementation to the customer

Strategizes and plans for future program improvements and solutions

Up to speed on industry innovations & anticipates future customer needs

Advises on research studies as it relates to the future direction of the program

Requirements gathering & validation: Setting up systems that optimize the needs of multiple customers

Understands data: what needs to be captured & how it moves through Pearson systems

Understands systems: How systems work together and vet configurations (Pearson’s and/or vendor’s)

Advises on assessment policy and use of program results

Understands how data will be used and what Pearson should do to support that from a design perspective

Understands how to meet mandated requirements via design solutions (e.g., limited testing time, strict reporting deadlines, etc.)

Manages communication and planning with internal functional teams and external partners/vendors

Coordinates and presents at Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings

Conducts reasonableness reviews of results as needed (e.g., equating)

Attends state board meetings as needed

Serves as a resource to brainstorm solutions with fellow Senior Measurement Advisors and assigned Lead Research Scientists

Remains actively engaged in the industry, contributing to ongoing conversations related to innovations and/or best practice

Requirements

Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education.

Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in the field of measurement.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
