Hello! Our client involved in the distribution industry is in immediate need of a financial reporting accountant who is skilled with technical accounting skills and strong SEC reporting experience.Apply to learn more about this position!Description:SUMMARY: The Financial Reporting & Corporate Accountant will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries togeneral ledger accounts, reconciling accounts to the general ledger and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements,and other financial reports. Will participate in the preparation of quarterly SEC financial statements and disclosures.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key participant in the preparation of external financial reports, including SEC Form 10-Q and 10-K reports, and prepare supporting schedules underlying the financial information included in the financial reports.
Contributes in the preparation of investor communication deliverables, including quarterly earnings releases and investor presentations, to ensure amounts presented are properly supported.
Research and analyze technical positions and compliance efforts related to GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and related accounting topics, including the implementation of new policies and standards. Assist in the preparation of memos summarizing issues, conclusions, and rationale for key accounting topics.
Prepare and document processes and procedures of internal controls.
Liaise with external audit teams and with the overall administration of external audits requests.
Lead or participate in special projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field with at least 4 years of experience in such field
Understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP
Excellent use of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Analytical reporting and review skills
Public accounting experience with Big-4 firm or similar is a plus
Certified Public Accountant is a plus
