Summary This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Health Services Section, Human Resources Division. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as Unit Chief, Medical Exams within the Health Services Section (HRU) overseeing Medical related processes and programs. Responsible for full cycle of employee medical exam process, from applicant to retirement examinations, as well as Employee Medical Records and invoice reconciliation. Responsibilities As a Medical Exams Manager, your typical work assignments may include: Serving as the Medical examination program manager for the DEA, directly affecting Law Enforcement Staff word-wide and staff pipeline. Overseeing the Medical Records Room, Employee Medical Folders, and Electronic Health Record Systems. Directing daily work, monitoring daily processes with expert guidance regarding laws and regulations pertaining to medical records management. Serving as the agency representative for multiple multi-year contracts. Providing essential support operations to numerous, varied and complex technical and administrative functions. Applicants applying for the GS-14 pay grade must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Administering or managing a team with a recruitment medical process responsibilities (e.g. medical records; occupational health, safety, etc.); 2) Evaluating segments of contracting activities, performance conforms, and acceptable quality levels; 3) Identifying violations, problem areas, and providing solutions on internal control programs.
