Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Data Center Technician in Ashburn, Virginia. This role is primarily based in a data center and requires a blend of hardware and software knowledge, with a particular focus on cabling. As part of our team, you'll be working closely with a variety of telecom providers, utilizing your skills in areas such as NOC, Cable Assemblies, Cable Installation, Microsoft, Cisco Hardware, and SAN - Storage Area Network. Responsibilities: Operate and maintain the data center in a manner that ensures business continuity Handle hardware and software issues, performing troubleshooting when necessary Oversee cabling installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting Collaborate with telecom providers to deliver seamless service Utilize NOC systems to monitor and manage network operations Use Microsoft and Cisco Hardware tools to enhance network functionality Install and manage SAN - Storage Area Network systems Adhere to data center protocols and standards to maintain network integrity Respond to and resolve network-related inquiries and issues in a timely manner Continually monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.Requirements Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a NOC Technician or in a related role. Proficient in NOC operations, procedures, and standards. Demonstrable experience in cable assemblies and cable installation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. Familiarity with Cisco hardware and its operation is required. Experience with SAN - Storage Area Network is essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Must be capable of multitasking and managing time effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Must be willing to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, if needed. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Relevant certifications or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field would be advantageous.
