Junior AI EngineerJob Category: ScienceTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: SecretEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: LocalThe Opportunity:CACI looking for a junior AI engineer to join our fast-paced program supporting the Department of Defense financial management processes and systems.You will join an Agile scrum team working with our clients in building innovative solutions that support our nation’s defense.Our team is exploring the transformative power of GenAI to simplify complex data analysis, support data exploration and retrieval, and provide end users with a simplified way to access knowledge.This is an exciting opportunity to expand upon an early-stage Generative AI prototype to a production-grade solution for the Department of Defense.This position is hybrid with occasional reporting to Chantilly, VA. Local residence is required.Responsibilities:

Research various Large Language Model (LLM) domain adaptation techniques

Research and implement data preparation techniques to generate training data for fine-tuning

Research specialized LLMs for tasks, such as text-to-SQL and tabular data analysis

Perform LLM fine-tuning

Deploy and Integrate LLMs into DoD business applications

Qualifications:Required:

0-2+ years of experience in data science, computer science or related field

University Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related Engineering discipline

Experience and demonstratable knowledge of Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models (e.g. LLM prompting, LangChain, etc).

Demonstratable knowledge of machine learning techniques, such as linear regression, logistic regression, neural networks, support vector machines, anomaly detection, clustering and classification algorithms

Experience with Python and modern deep learning frameworks, such as Keras, TensorFlow, pyTorch, caffe

Has experience working autonomously and conducting independent research

Demonstrates a capability for flexible and resourceful thinking

Able and willing to learn new skills quickly

US Citizenship & ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance (Interim to start)

Desired:

Demonstratable understanding of full stack Software Development and all phases of Software Development Life Cycle

An understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing AI applications

Web services and Web API’s (i.e., REST, GraphQL)
