What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead growth and sustainment of the sub-division's ISR collection and space-to-ground communications modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities to support new and existing functional areas for a diverse DoD and IC customer base
  • Act as an authoritative technical advisor on software application development for sub-division and division level leadership
  • Lead and mentor all sub-division developers on effective engagement with customers, teamwork, analysis techniques, data analytics and visualization, and general best practices
  • Independently develop and strengthen relationships with senior program office managers and customer senior leadership
  • Lead development projects and provide technical advice for space and ground architecture modeling and simulation analysis capability development
  • Independently build corporate development teams with the necessary skills, define project objectives and tasks, track performance, and execute to project completion
  • Develop novel capabilities and enhance & sustain existing capabilities in support of architecture concept development, analysis-of-alternatives (AoA), source selection proposal assessment, trade studies, and future architecture performance projections
  • Provide expert advice on the development of capabilities to analyze customer space architectures, including related ground systems and supporting technologies, in these specific national security space functional areas: geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, space protection, or communications infrastructure supporting intelligence capabilities

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • BS Degree in aerospace engineering, operations research or related field of science or engineering required
  • Prior experience leading teams of software developers, coordinating complex technical tasks among experienced team members, and translating user needs into viable instructions for developers required
  • Substantial demonstrated experience or background in three of the following areas: architecture performance analysis and modeling, optimization and/or decision support, communications systems analysis, electronics systems analysis, imagery systems analysis, software and/or simulation development required
  • Direct experience building working relationships with customer senior leadership and extensive knowledge of customer business/mission portfolios
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics, dynamics, and mathematics related to space system analysis required
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of PC or UNIX platforms, and associated software required
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with object-oriented code development in C and Python, with software management environments (such as Git and Subversion), and with creation of software application user manuals and documentation
  • Demonstrated history of personal accountability for seeing tasks through completion, adaptation to changing customer requirements, and ability to learn and self-correct
  • Current SSBI required
How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Graduate Degree in computer science/engineering, operations research, or related field of science or engineering
  • Hands-on analysis experience with BLINE-Traffic tool-suite and related workflows, detailed knowledge of on-going development of BLINE-Traffic workflow script development, knowledge of on-going BLINE2 development efforts, and good coding skills
  • Direct experience with and understanding of Aerospace customers and business
  • Prior experience working in an engineering matrix that supports program office and customer senior leadership

Grade-Based Pay Range

(Min - Mid - Max)$117,027 - $192,281 - $267,534
