Job AnnouncementThis position requires a highly motivated and dynamic individual to serve as a member of our Human Services Assistant Team. While working in a team environment, this person would process local child care vendor attendance for child care services provided. They would resolve problems quickly and efficiently and maintain excellent working relationships. One must be able to communicate effectively with child care providers and vendors from various cultures and backgrounds and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to apply attention to detail when entering data and information into appropriate databases. This person must be able to manage time sensitive tasks and can work independently under general supervision. This position providers day to day administrative support to the reception area such as answering incoming calls from the public, help with scanning documents and general coverage as needed in additional to working with our Administrative Response Team (ART) in performing other general office duties.Employment StandardsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or GED issued by state department of education; plus three years of work experience, including two years in some area of human services (related two-year [associate] degree may be substituted for the required human service experience).LICENSE REQUIRED: Valid driver's licenseNECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, child protective services check, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of experience working in some area of human services.
At least one year of experience reviewing for accuracy and processing invoices for payment.
At least two years of administrative assistance experience.
At least two years of front-line customer service experience with excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact in a friendly, service-oriented professional manner with internal and external customers.
At least one year of experience reviewing applications for program eligibility determination.
At least one year of experience performing one or more of the following duties: billing, data entry, updating electronic document management system, and maintaining and updating electronic case management systems.
Experience effectively communicating with diverse and bilingual/multilingual populations.
Clear and concise abilities in oral and written communications skills.
Able to successfully work independently and effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgement, and utilize critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
