Summary About the Position: Serves as a training specialist performing a variety of analytical, planning and related tasks concerned with collective and unit training of Active and Reserve Component Sustainment personnel and organizations in garrison and field environments. Requires an understanding of overall collective training content/structure, the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) process, a practical knowledge of training methods and techniques, and a specialized knowledge in logistics. Responsibilities Determines extent of and conducts research required for assigned projects; evaluates source material for currency and applicability to subject matter and objectives of publications. Develops long and short range training strategy for sustainment/logistics forces, units. Maintains liaison and coordinates with the Sustainment units, CASCOM directorates, TRADOC/DA and Joint and Multinational subject area specialists and technical personnel. Serves as project leader in training concepts validations. Provides technical assistance to other Centers and CASCOM action officers, MACOMS and field units in the development and review of Sustainment unit training materials and actions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge in Logistics such as the development of collective tasks, Training Support Packages (TSP), and Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS) also includes a knowledge of the overall collective training product content/structure, the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) process, and a practical knowledge of training methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Influencing/Negotiating Oral Communication Problem Solving Training and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
