Software Engineer

Location: Herndon, VA (REMOTE during COVID)

Job Description

Our client is a highly skilled engineering group looking for a highly motivated

Mid to Senior Software Engineer to join their. This environment is well suited for individuals that want to grow and have some say in where their work, and the team is going. They build high performance systems on an AWS/NodeJS stack.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently, as our team is distributed
  • Work in a team environment, and collaborate appropriately
  • Help drive the product forward in terms of ideas, efforts
  • Provide production support
  • Work with external teams, including product, sales, vendors, etc.
  • Participate in design sessions with respect to technology and architecture direction

Qualifications:

  • Ability to describe and implement high performance systems on cloud infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of NodeJS
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript (Typescript a plus)
  • AWS experience, specifically around: Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, ECS, API Gateway (and Authorizers)
  • Non-relational database development (DynamoDB, Elasticsearch)
  • College degree in a related field (Computer Science, Math, Engineering, etc.)
  • 4+ years of experience in a software engineering role

Preferred:

  • Java knowledge for some of our legacy systems that we are in the process of deprecating
  • Understanding of Terraform and ability to leverage it
