INTERMEDIATE LEVEL - DATA ANALYST - JOB POSTING
Small data mining company looking for strong intermediate level data analyst. Candidate must have a significant level of experience with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, and VB code if possible) and Access (queries, macros, reports). This is a work-from-home position; however, candidates located in Lynchburg, VA or Greensboro, NC are a plus in terms of ability to easily meet with other staffers when necessary.
Candidate would work with and manipulate large customer data files containing several million records. The data will be analyzed to address key strategic issues for large sales organizations including questions like: 1) what is the optimal size of the sales force, 2) who should they be calling on, and 3) where should the sales associates be located.
A 4-year college degree is preferred but not essential, as is a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a data oriented position. Experience in the hotel/hospitality industry is another plus. We're looking for somebody with more of financial analyst background than a hard-core programmer; somebody who can take a client's business question and figure out how to manipulate the data in our systems to answer those questions. Compensation commensurate with experience but the target salary is $50,000 annually. Schedule is very flexible. This is a full-time position. Outsource companies and those seeking a contractor position need not apply. Both part-time and full-time positions will be considered. Position is eligible for 401k plan and 2 weeks of vacation time after one year of employment. Medical insurance coverage is not available at this time.
