Job Summary
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will perform a variety of clerical and manual tasks involved in the handling, storage and issuing of various supplies, materials and equipment.
· Performs a variety of inventory control functions for General Stores including re-stocking shelves, re-organizing stock locations and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Accuracy is of paramount importance.· Has thorough knowledge of SMART system as relates to job performance.· Processes requisitions via electronic data entry and transport supplies and equipment to appropriate hospital departments.· Manages and maintains inventory control functions for assigned pre-stocked departments, including requisition maintenance.· Restocks utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation & proper location.· Adjusts inventory levels on pre-stocked departments as needed to maintain the most efficient and optimum stocking levels.· Participates in the delivery of non-stock supplies throughout the hospital.· Monitors all stock and OR non stock items to ensure items do not become outdated. Reviews non stock for all other areas served as time permits.· Serves as back up to others within the storeroom and mailroom position.· Works in receiving and performs all receiving activities as requested.Puts away stock in General Stores and labels chargeable items on designated days.· Must be able to foster positive relationships with co-workers and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work demands.· Prepares outgoing shipments for credit, exchange or repair.· Plans, organizes and manages assigned stations physical inventory and participates in hospital wide physical inventory.· Maintains the security of General Stores and loading dock areas.· Maintains all areas of materials storage in a neat and organized manner.

Basic Accounting, reading and math skills.Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Ability to operate a personal computer and understand the Materials Management System commensurate with assigned duties. Ethical and professional behavioral characteristics and attitudes.Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of motion including manual dexterity of both hands. Must be able to bend using knees and squat as taught in our yearly inservice education. Requires the ability to push carts or pull pallet jack loads weighing 1000-2500 pounds and the ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Ability to distinguish colors. Requires standing and walking and bending for prolonged periods of time on a concrete surface. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.Minimum Work ExperienceTwo years working with supply inventory, in a warehouse environment preferred.
