Description We are seeking an interim Sr. Accountant with non-profit experience to join our team located in Martinsville, Virginia. This contract role will be hybrid onsite (2 day a week) and involves a range of accounting tasks, from general ledger maintenance to financial analysis. Responsible for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation, monthly accounting reconciliations, and ensuring the company financial transactions are properly recorded
Prepare month-end financial reports
Prepare and post general journal entries
Perform detailed monthly review, analysis, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Analyze financial data to compare forecasted and trended results
Assist Controller with preparation of schedules and documentation for year-end audit
Conduct thorough monthly reviews, analyses, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Ensure all company financial transactions are accurately recorded. Assist with the preparation of schedules and documentation for year-end audits. Prepare and post all general journal entries effectively. Take on the responsibility for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation. Analyze financial data for forecasting and trend analysis. Prepare month-end financial reports to ensure transparency and accuracy. Maintain monthly accounting reconciliations meticulously. Leverage skills in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for efficient execution of tasks. Process customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records.Requirements REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience and comprehensive knowledge of GASB accounting (i.e., fund accounting)
2-4 years of accounting experience required
Ability to work independently
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and MUNIS is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to be onsite in Martinsville at least 2 days a week
