Job Summary

Summary/Objective

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day support for employees at his or her respective work site by managing benefits enrollments and terminations, leave of absence requests, administration of company policies, on-boarding and termination appointments, and general work site recruiting. This position will also work with the Director of Human Resources to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Essential Functions

Manages requests for Leaves of Absence, including non-FMLA, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation-related leaves

Conducts investigations to ensure compliance with the Company's Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Policy with guidance from the Director of Human Resources

Facilitates training and education for employees, including supervisors, regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity & Inclusion, Harassment and Discrimination Prevention, and other topics related to

Human Resources

Manages recruiting and job postings for his or her respective work site by screening applicants and coordinating interviews with Hiring Managers

Manages benefits enrollments and terminations, answers employee questions regarding health, dental and vision insurance; assists with delivering and maintaining required Plan Documents and Notices

Educates employees regarding the Company 401(K) Plan and assists with delivering required Plan Documents and Notices

Completes new hire paperwork and conducts new employee orientation appointments

Processes routine voluntary terminations; processes involuntary terminations with guidance from the Director of Human Resources; conducts exit interviews

Assists with record-keeping of safety meetings and work-related accident investigations; fills out required paperwork to file workers compensation claims; assists with recordkeeping of OSHA logs for his or her work site

Administers the Company attendance policy and produces related advisory and disciplinary notices

Serves as a facilitator and mediator, along with the Plant Manager and department supervisors, to resolve work-related disputes and interpersonal problems

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

The regular schedule for this job is Monday - Friday during office hours, typically from 8AM - 5PM. Schedules are subject to change depending on business needs.

Travel

Travel may be required on occasion for training, attendance at conferences, or other company events. Travel is expected rarely, less than 5% of the time.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree

1 -3 years progressive work experience in Human Resources or related field

Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Outlook and Excel

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field

3+ years progressive experience in Human Resources or related field

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Professional Working Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish languages is required

Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish languages is preferred

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be authorized to work in the United States
