PART-TIME to FULL TIME

SCRAPER / TRAINEE IN SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY

Required

Minimum 6 months experience in machinery or metalworking preferred.

Job will entail learning and performing a specialized trade in fine-tuning and polishing heavy equipment metal to metal horizontal pressure joints.

Applicant must have the drive and ability to learn and adapt in an effort to take on an unusual trade of power scraping.

In addition trade involves grinding, sanding, cleaning, industrial machinery parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using both hand tools and power scraping tools.

Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met, willingness to train for long-term employment.

Knowledge and application of power tools & precision measuring instruments a plus.

Willing to work flexible shifts and/or change work schedules as per current contract.

Willing and able to travel up to 4 weeks at a time approx. 50% or as required.

No felonies, must be able to obtain a satisfactory Background Check.

Must be US Citizen

Position Responsibilities and Duties

Must be able and willing to work in non-climate controlled heavy machinery spaces of varying conditions, lift up to 50 lbs.

Technical interest a plus.

Close attention to detail in all aspects of the job is necessary.

Works well under pressure and communicates well with others.

Preferred knowledge of a shipboard construction environment and willing to work in such environment.

Must be able to pass a drug test.

Must have US Drivers License & Reliable Transportation.
