Summary About the Position: Serve as a Staff Action Specialist for the Army G-3/5 Strategy/Plans/Policy Directorate with the responsibility for staff support to the Command Group by reviewing, coordinating, tasking, and monitoring all correspondence, programs, initiatives, and projects that require Command Group attention. Responsibilities Serve as the central point of control and liaison for developing the administrative programs required to ensure the proper functioning of the Army Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (DAMO-SS). Staff and track internal and external correspondence with designated functional and support areas of the command. Review command correspondence to ensure appropriate responses are provided and coordination has been accomplished in all involved elements. Serve as project administrator, coordinator, and administrative specialist on complex actions/projects. Provide Non-Defense Travel System Entry Agent (NDEA) support for the Defense Travel System (DTS). Ensure orders are in compliance with the JFTR/JTR and various CSA/SA policies for travelers (military and civilians). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing advice to senior staff on administrative functions such as human resources processes and travel programs; tracking internal and external correspondence; and providing recommendations on procedures to ensure efficient administration of operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Problem Solving Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
