Role Overview
The Pipefitter fabricates, assembles, and installs pipe systems and skids in a manufacturing facility setting. This role focuses on accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery of prefabricated assemblies for industrial and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
-Read and interpret blueprints, spool drawings, and isometrics to plan work.
-Cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes (steel, copper, plastic) using power tools and fabrication machinery.
-Assemble pipe systems, valves, and supports per project specifications.
-Conduct hydrostatic or air pressure tests and verify integrity of assemblies.
-Maintain material staging and ensure efficient shop flow.
-Follow OSHA and facility safety standards; mentor apprentices when applicable.
Success Metrics
-Assemblies fabricated with < 2 % rework.
-95 % on-time completion rate.
-Zero safety incidents each quarter.
Who You Are
-A skilled pipefitter or fabricator with 5+ years’ experience in industrial or commercial environments. You’re detail-driven, safety-minded, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced shop. You take pride in quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
-5+ years of pipefitting or related fabrication experience (journeyman preferred).
-Proficient with threading, bending, cutting, and assembly equipment.
-Able to interpret technical drawings and fabrication layouts.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and safety mindset.
-Reliable transportation to Richmond, VA.
